Learning about industrial marine design

People are often surprised to learn how much work goes into designing even the simplest objects in ships and boats, such as the beds and toilets. We have to design for all of the forces of the sea as well as corrosion from the sea water for outdoors objects. There is something really special about designing some equipment that can withstand all sorts of issues. This blog explains the design and manufacturing that goes into make marine grade items. It will be great for anyone who is passionate about the sea as well as students of industrial design and manufacturing.

3 Key Benefits of Turnkey Solutions for Independent Solar Power Producers

Turnkey solutions have become commonplace because of various benefits, for instance, synchronised processes, faster production time and enhanced savings. The use of turnkey manufacturing in Photovoltaic (PV)  processes like designing of solar panels, testing, and installation is being adopted by many solar power producers, both small-scale and large-scale. Here are some reasons why independent solar power producers should consider turnkey solutions.

1. Reduced Production Time -- In turnkey processing, a contractor can begin construction or manufacturing before receiving all specifications from a customer. A project is divided into phases where the manufacturer can start to develop solar power units like solar cells, solar trackers and inverters as they await further plans and specifications.

As the design team works on the nuances of all the equipment needed, another team is deployed to the site to survey the area irrespective of whether you require an off-grid connection or a grid connection. The field information is shared with the design and manufacturing team to help deliver the best solar products to clients. In the conventional manufacturing arrangement, work does not begin until the design team has completed all plans.

2. Huge Savings -- The other advantage of turnkey solutions is that a contractor will bear any additional costs that might arise due to a host of reasons including defective products or inadequate design processes. The reason is that the contractor will take charge of designing and construction of all solar equipment components such as solar panels and inverters according to the client specifications.

Therefore, if a product is defective or the owner's plans were not adequately captured, then the contractor will not seek additional compensation from the client. In this sense, the owner saves money that would otherwise have been spent on remedying design and manufacturing inefficiencies that common in the traditional manufacturing arrangement.

Furthermore, controlling the design phase implies that a PV manufacturer can use processes and methods that are familiar leading to efficient and cost-effective production. The savings are then passed to solar products buyer.

3. Seamless Production -- A turnkey PV manufacturer offers synchronised solutions in the provision of solar solutions from design to delivery and installation. For example, when you have adjustments to make to your solar power rating, or you need to change the type of power inverter to suit the new solar cells, you need to contact your turnkey contractor.

In the conventional approach, you would have to contact the design team to develop solar panels that suit your needs, and then you would follow it up the chain with the manufacturing team. However, with turnkey design and manufacturing processes being done under one roof, the project team can coordinate internally for a seamless production process.
